We’ve been enjoying more rain; it is always welcome, the wet stuff in any form. As a child, we always had a barrel to catch rain in as it fell. It seems this was used for washing hair, maybe with a vinegar/water rinse or lemon with water. Never did we wash our hair nightly.

It is not my purpose to spread bad news, to forecast what lies on the horizon. But as a senior, one of the senility group or on the way, and for those approaching, you must turn some situations around, make adaptations, or you will be among the confused and lost. This news is worse than trying to find a phone number even with bifocals.
First, telemarketers are getting hostile, more desperate. These are employees of something needing customers, more money. They are calling the wrong people. My husband made the mistake of answering such a call yesterday. During the

We’ve known for a long time the question “How are you?” mostly does not mean someone really wants to know.
Because of this, some other women and I think we need a medical support group for women who need to vent about pains, quirks, knots, daily new occurrences to something never happening before. We are in no way trivializing or frivolously referring to chronic or serious life threatening disease. In limited fashion, we

A few are saying taking cinnamon tablets daily is lowering or eliminating their diabetes. Cranberry tablets are out in pill form to fight urinary infections.
Other better-health wannabes are not buying anything with added chemicals or additives of any kind.

A popular topic again is the weather. We awake and wonder what the outside will reveal. Rain is the favorite!

There’s a coughing virus going around our community. Hoarseness, even nausea, can accompany this malady. Remember Vick’s Salve? Get it out for use – some say coat the feet on it and sleep with socks. One friend spent Christmas Day in his bed, too ill to eat or think about gifts.

Last night some television announcer said average women’s weight has gone from 140 pounds in 1980 to 160 pounds in 2012. I’ll take either weight gratefully. And if anyone wants to know, I have enrolled in a pay-now program using powerful machinery to whip me into shape one way or another. Then my age and back enjoined in marriage, causing my back to hurt whenever it chooses, probably because of friends Mr. Arthur and his horribly cruel friend Mrs. Osto. This occurred during my initial week of exercise possibly because I left the walking machines and decided to work on one to eliminate one of my stomachs. Big mistake.
In 1991, I “paid my dues” with back surgery for a three-type rupture on the bottom of my spine. I thought I had given enough at the Office of the Bones. Then in 2011-2012, the old lady’s back finds me with vengeance on the mind and this is one ailment people doubt the most of anyone having, unless structure of the body almost meets

Some are still coughing after having viruses or infections in the breathing department. Of course, we still need rain, but I’ve seen water standing as we call it in fields and ditches, a rare sight.

Once again, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas while I can. My favorite Christmas songs are connected to bells – with one ring to remind us of the new year and time to change ourselves into something better. All other rings thereafter are episodes, acts, flaws, disappointments to ring away the past. Here is the chance for a new start with a new year soon beginning.
I tried to think of my favorite Christmas, so difficult, because
