Malakoff Ex-Students’ and Alumni set homecoming events

The Malakoff Ex-Students’ and Alumni Association will be celebrating homecoming with a variety of events Oct. 12-14.

The Malakoff Exes Homecoming Parade will be held Friday, Oct. 12. Line up on Jackson Street, in front of the Old Rock Building at 5 p.m. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m., and will end at the high school. If you would like to participate in the parade, call 903-489-8118.

The Tigers will take on Lone Oak at 7:30 p.m., with the homecoming king and queen crowned before the game.

Saturday, Oct. 13, the Malakoff Ex-Students’ and Alumni Association will host its 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

The tournament will be held at Indian Oaks Golf Course in Scurry. Check-in is 8:30 a.m. with tee time at 9 a.m. Cost is $50 per player, which includes a shared cart, lunch and cash prizes. Mulligans will be available for $5, limit two per player.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100.

There will be a maximum of 10, four-man teams.

Proceeds will help fund the association scholarships and the Malakoff Education Foundation.

The golf tournament isn’t all that’s on tap for Saturday; there will also be a banquet that night at the high school. Cost is $12.50 per person, and includes dinner, dessert, tea, coffee and program.

Sunday there will be a picnic at the Flagg House from 1-5 p.m. Cost for the picnic is $8.50, and includes sandwich, chips, dessert, drink, yard games and tour of the Flagg House.

Membership dues for the association are $10 annually. All events are for members in good standing. There will be a $5 fee for non-exes who attend events with association members.
