Janis R. Hallum, 75, of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 with her loving family by her side. She was born to the late Dr. Roy Roberts and Mrs. Minnie Faye Roberts on Nov. 30, 1936 in Wichita Falls.
Mrs. Hallum loved and enjoyed many things in her life. She loved fishing and fished often. She was continually contacted and asked where all the good fishing spots were located. If anyone needed any assistance, she was known as the person to call and enjoyed being a guide on many occasions. She was also an artist and loved to paint. She loved Christmas and getting together with her family. Mrs. Hallum enjoyed the outdoors, nature and bird watching. When she wasn’t on her boat fishing, you would probably find her gardening and working in her yard. She leaves behind so many friends who will continually miss her and love her.
She is survived by her son, Mark E. Hallum of Waxahachie; her daughter, Vicki L. Hallum of Waxahachie; her sister, Judy Love and her husband, Don of New Mexico; her brother, Phillip Roberts and his wife, Peggy of Colorado Springs; her grandchildren, Crystal A. Hallum of Dallas, Austin B. Holboke of Waxahachie, M. Daniel Hallum of Waxahachie and Madeline F. Hallum of Waxahachie; her great grandchildren, Ally K. Hallum of Waxahachie and Hadden B. Holboke of Waxahachie; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends.
Memorial services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie, with the Rev. Bruce Zimmerman officiating.
