Malakoff cleans up at CCL art show

SEVEN POINTS – Art students from Malakoff High School brought home the most ribbons – including Best in Show – from last weekend’s art show in Seven Points.

The third annual High School Art Show and Contest sponsored by The Library at Cedar Creek Lake drew its largest number of participants yet from Eustace, Kemp, Mabank and Malakoff high schools.

New this year, was the addition of a culinary competition and representatives from colleges with strong art programs acting as judges.
Best of Show went to Tyler Jones of Malakoff for his Elvis print, and Hailey Houston in the three-dimensional category for her back pack.

In the two-dimensional art category:

  • – fifth place winners are Keegan Adair and Kassidy Cantrell, both of Eustace, Megan West and Brittani Beowell, both of Malakoff.
  • – fourth place winners are Tiffany Wilson, Gina Cook and Bret Smith, both of Malakoff and Maridean Wiliamson/Mabank.
  • – third place winners are Nathan Cason, Whitney Frosch and Seth Purselly, all of Eustace and Brittney Ramon of Mabank.
  • – second place winners are Trey Russell and Jasmin Lopez of Eustace, Gina Cook/Malakoff and Riley Lenz of Mabank.
  • – first place winners are Ashley King of Kemp, Jessica Williams/Eustace and Robby York and Brook Atkinson both of Mabank.

In the three-dimensional art category:

  • – fifth place winners are Seth Purselly of Eustace and Mariana Martinez of Kemp
  • – fourth place winners are Casey Bramblitt of Eustace and Michael Brawner/Mabank.
  • – third place winners are Hailey Houston/Kemp and Ilse Perez of Malakoff
  • – second place Maridean Williamson of Mabank and Kimberly Nieto/Kemp.
  • – first place winners are Marissa Cherry and Megan West both of Malakoff.
