Rotary Club meetings

The Rotary Club of Malakoff, chartered March 29, 1939 meets noon each Tuesday at the Flagg House, located at 207 E. Main Street. The group serves the people of the Malakoff area, students and faculty at Malakoff ISD, and the students at Cross Roads High School. “A small but powerful group of motivated people in service to their communities.” For information, contact Jeanie Seely at 903-489-2266.

Festival of Trees

Trees decorated by non-profit agencies in Henderson County will be on display in the foyer of the Cain Center through Dec. 2. The public is encouraged to come in during this time to view, bid on and vote for their favorite tree. All bidding and voting will close Dec. 2 at noon.
A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2 to recognize the organizations that have a tree on display and the results of the bidding and voting will be announced.
Winners of the bidding will be contacted and can pick-up their tree during the reception.

Round and Square dancing

Round and square dancing will be Saturday, Dec. 3 and Dec. 17, from 8-10 p.m., and the first and third Saturdays each month at the Log Cabin Swingers Square Dance Club located at 1210 North Tool Drive (SH 274). A “New Dancer” dance will be held Friday, Dec. 9. All new dancers are invited. Graduation for current beginner dance series will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19. A country western SWAGS dance will be Jan. 22. Everyone is welcome; no charge for observers. For more information, call 903-340-9672.

PSUMC Fellowship Night

The Payne Springs United Methodist Church monthly Fellowship Night will be, Wednesday, Dec. 7, with a Covered Dish Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Organizers are pleased to bring back the “Singing Fireman” singing traditional favorite Christmas Songs. Come join in for a very enjoyable evening. The church is located at, 9667 SH 198, South of Mabank.
