From Staff Reports

Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt reported last week that the Texas Commission on Jail Standards made an unannounced visit to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Thursday, Nov. 17, for the annual inspection of the Henderson County Jail.

The inspection took two days, according to Nutt, during which time the inspector checked paperwork and the operations of the facility.

“He relayed to Judge (Richard) Sanders and myself that we should be very proud of the facility and the job that the jail staff is doing,” said Nutt.

There were no deficiencies noted within the inspector’s report.

“I would like to commend Major Botie Hillhouse, Captain Mike Starkey, Lt. Chris Arnold, and all detention staff for their continued professionalism and work ethic. Without the efforts made by their hard work this would not have been possible,” said Nutt.
